The Directorate of Public Grievances was set up in the Cabinet Secretariat in March,1989. Grievances can be filed either online or through post/drop-box with the Directorate of Public Grievance in respect of select Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations which have extensive public interface such as MTNL/BSNL, Railways, Posts, Insurance Companies, Public Sector Banks etc. (list is available at https://dpg.gov.in/Authpages/OgCovered.aspx) Depending on nature and gravity of the grievances, the Directorate either seeks comments or transfers the same for appropriate action to the concerned Department(s). |
